I have just been approached by the main organisers of Sunday’s Paper BANG event to be the Q&A interviewer. So with a bunch of questions to hand - I will be asking film director Ben
Hibon and composer & sound designer Joris de Man, how they went about creating the award winning MTV Asia short animated film “Codehunters”.
I sent in this press release to the Wired Sussex team about the Paper BANG event coming up -

Sunday 29th July - This is set to be an exciting collaborative evening between the Paper Bag film night crew & BANG members. Paper Bang will be an excellent way for the members of BANG to showcase their animation at a special screening night, as well as listen to interviews from the makers of the animated short film Codehunters (possibly interviewed by yours truely!) and find out more about the production of the film.
More details to follow!
My first night organising BANG went without a hitch last night! Special thanks to John Davison from Blunt74 - who gave an engaging talk about his work as an animator and the industry and building a portfolio of specialised work. There was a brilliant turn out & quite a few new faces to BANG (we even enticed a couple of the Hastings animation/music crew along! So a big thank you to them for travelling all that way to see us).
The next meeting is on Wednesday September 5th - more details to follow!
I have just become the organiser of the Brighton Animators Networking Group & helping Wired Sussex with the running of the group.
Next meeting -
Wednesday 4th July - 6pm - 8pm - The Greene Room (above The Cricketers), Black Lion Street, Brighton
I have invited Blunt74’s John Davison to talk about his work as an animator.
I hope to see you there!
Hi!
Welcome to the AnimNation Quicklinks blog site! My name is Sarah Bird - I am the Director at AnimNation. I have started up this blog to document any AnimNation news, talk about all aspects of computer and traditional animation and talk about animation networking events in Brighton. From time to time, I will post up the odd animation tutorial - which will be a valuable resource for freelance and student animators and anyone who would like to learn a little more about the subject.
Enjoy!
